This series of print-based works were created after a weekend workshop at Press West - a printmaking studio in Queenstown, on the west coast of Tasmania. As I wandered through the town and down to the river, I filled my sketchbook with quick drawings of shapes, textures and patterns. House and building numbers also found their way into these works, as did the name of the town’s historic theatre, the Paragon. Using a mixture of screen printing and stencils, drawing and painting, these 8 works on heavyweight paper are a layered, abstract impression of this unique and remote town.
